:: 2008 - Walesby
2008 saw 3rd Hindley return to a campsite which has become a firm favourite of ours over recent years - Walesby Forest. In keeping with last year we chose to take the entire troop on the Friday, meaning an extra full day of fun for the lads and an extra full day of stress fun for the leaders!
As ever, the lads were kept entertained by a combination of the campsite’s organised activities (crate stacking, archery, shooting, team building etc) and the leader’s disorganised ones (mini olympics, it’s a knockout, fishing…)
Days out came in the form of trips to the Doncaster Dome for some swimming and ice skating; and a trip to Amen Corner for some Go Karting, which went down especially well although it doesn’t look like we’ve found the next Lewis Hamilton yet.
As ever, our many thansk go out to all the people that make it possible for us to provide such a fun and rewarding weekend, including the leaders and helpers and also those who you may not see such as Pete the Wagon Driver, the people the keep us supplied with minibuses, Tesco for delivering to the middle of field and the Wilsons, who didn’t hurt themselves this year.
