:: 2006 - Blackwell Court

Having been off the Summer Camp rotation for several years, 2006 saw the return of Blackwell Court. As ever, the camping standard was high, with the Patrols cooking and cleaning for themselves throughout the course of the week. Regular inspections by ‘Pan-wazzer Brown’ and his team kept the lads in check!

A new activity for 2006 at Blackwell Court was the zip-wire. Once safely harnessed in, the lads were free to demonstrate poses such as ‘the bat’ (hanging upside down on the line) and ‘the wrecking ball’ (Alistair / Bower crashing in to the tree at the end of the line!)

The Theme Day this year was pirates, leading to some interesting costumes including MichaelPeterPagett being brave enough to wear Norman’s green vest! Bouncy castles provided entertainment for leaders and lads alike; the lads enjoying the activities on the castles, the leaders enjoying the ‘Phoenix Nights’ moment as the giraffe was inflated!

One lasting memory from the last day of the camp was James ‘Kebab’ Collins challenging Simon ‘the Cat’ Cuerden to a game of badminton. The stakes? All the washing up from the leaders! The loser? Well it certainly wasn’t the Cat!
