13.01.2008 - Section Update
In 2008 16 Beavers achieved their Chief Scout bronze award - the highest award in Beaver scouting.
The story so far for 2009
Beavers have just returned from a district trip to Blackpool Tower circus and attractions. Over 200 Beavers and their leaders from Wigan and district attended what proved to be a fun educational and entertaining long day out.
Our Beavers will once again be taking part in the 5 a Side football competition in February and we are putting on some training sessions to develop their team work.
As`always we will be taking part in the district theme night challenge, this year the theme is Disney so look out for some colourful photos of that event available at the end of April..

Apr: St. Georges Day Parade
May: Centenary Fun Day at Bibby’s Farm
Jun: Day out to Windermere / Brockhole
Jul: Outdoor H2O Games
Aug: District Sunrise Day
Sep: Anderton Boat Lift
All this and we have still managed to cover all 3 challenge awards, 7 activity badges and 2 staged activity badges during our Monday meetings, plus having meetings that are just for fun. PHEW!
12.04.06 - 5-A-SIDE
We entered two teams again this year, out Lions and Tigers. The tigers gained confidence with every game and played with sportsmanship. The lions made it to the semi and came 3rd overall after a local derby with 1st Hindley. Many thanks to our dads Mr. Leese and Mr. Bennett who trained out teams; also to Mr. Ivory who helped to ref on the day (a thankless job!) It was once again a successful footballing experience and we will be back next year so lookout wigan!
DISTRICT CHALLENGE
Well done to the 3rd Hindley Beavers for their efforts in the District Meeting Challenge. This year’s theme was St. Georges Day. Our lads (and of course the leaders) put a great effort in to make a magical night of drama, craft, games and feasting. Unfortunately we didn’t win the competition this year, but a great time was had by all anyway!!!
MARCH 2005
3rd Hindley Beavers entered two teams in the District 5-a-Side competition held in February. The main trophy didn’t come home this year, but the Lions did win the penalty shoot out competition. Well done to both teams, Lions and Tigers!!!
